We’ve almost hit the end of June. Summer’s on and the year is half up.

We’ve got our book now sitting in the July issue of Previews. You may have spotted this postage-sized image in it. It can be found in the independent comic section under Optimum Wound. Order code for your local comic shop is JUL09 1019. It’s hitting shops in early September. You can pre-order it at your comic store and soon on Amazon.

Congrats to Margo for winning our first contest a few weeks ago. Your package finally went out and you should be receiving your artwork and Rex graphic novella shortly. And now we come to our second contest in celebration of the release of Optimum Wound Volume One. This is a larger pen and ink drawing measuring 11 inches wide and 17 inches tall.

well for the new year I hope to get a job and help support my mom for every thing she's done for me.she's a single mom so I can only imagine how much she's had to put up with. Well my dad died when I was only 12.that was the hardest thing for both of us.so again to the question of what I want to accomplish for the new year and that would be to help support my mom and gf.so I hope I win the poster because it would be great pic for my wall.and it would be a constant reminder of the promise I made to my mom and gf and that was I would always be there to help and protect them.

Well Jay, I've never planned for a ned of a year. When that ned comes, I hope to have a new screenplay written, ready to pitch it to people with money and most of a novel written. Then I'll probably do like everyone else and celebrate the shortcomings by lying in proclaimation about what I will do the next year.

First off, can I ask what the hell "the ned of the year" is? haha.

Accomplishment is over rated. Life is good the way it is, man. And if you live life by those sans-rules, and if you are good to people, and have a wholesome character, I've found out that good things will swallow you whole. :)

At the beginning of this year, I lived with my parents, penniless, jobless, and hopeless. In the past 6 months, I have moved to Austin, Tx, found two incredible local jobs (you have to support your local businesses, you know), and now I have a bad ass house with a bad ass room mate.

Things I would want to accomplish for this rest of the year would be to not stress about money, and to be completely capable of living my life to the fullest, always doing things, learning things and being creative. Also, I would like to re-connect to the inner collective consciousness of man and God. But, that is not a years goal; more like a life goal. :)

I would like to get my own website up and running..I understand that myspace equals free space but..i want more....my website will just be the first step in my enterprise. I want to help unprivileged youth in the inner cities with a safe haven..I know there is a lot of talent in those streets..they just need help showcasing it.. so i want to start a enterprise that would do so..I want to open a amateur Apollo theater for them. Half the profits would go to their neighborhood, to help build it up...then i will open like old school soda shops, and ice cream parlors... help teach them how to work with trade seminars and other stuff...scholarships....i want to give them what i never had the chance to get...Oh yeah and dude..i love your art...i think you were my first or second friend i added on myspace..lol

I am enrolling in community college. I am changing my major to English (short story writing) and minoring in 2 dimensional art. These things will be necessary to start my comic series and maybe compete with your story someday :)

I hope to tackle an adiction that i have picked up,in time of strugle in my life.When shit hit the fan all i could do was run to an addiction i wasn't enough of a man to stand strong and tall all i did was stay low and get high.I left alot of friends and family during this time and i hope to never do that again i hope to grow stronger as a brother to my sister and as a son to my parents and a better boyfriend to my girlfriend! i hope to acomplish this way before this year ends it hasn't been easy but the motivation is good(love ones) so i'll keep on trucking along

What am I going to accomplish by the end of the year?

Well, life is short. I am going to enjoy my time.
Strengthen bonds with family and friends. Create work I can be proud of. Declutter all the crap in my life I don't need. Throw out the TV.

Specific goals for the end of the year: save up at least half of the money I need to attend the Denver Biennial of the Americas next summer. Learn how to work with an Arduino and hack a Wii controller. Polish my After Effects skills enough to make a great short. Work with my child to help him create his game called "Cyclops vs. Ninja" using MIT's Scratch programming platform.

I'm hoping to by Halloween, I can sew better than I do now. I plan on making my own costume this year and I don't think Rogue of the X-Men is something I want to screw up. Almost wishing I would have been Mystique this year, the dress was way simple and would have been good for this novice.
I also hope to get to a con but never know how that's going to work.
I'll be backpacking in August, let's hope being in the mountains at the peak of a meteor shower, or just being away from technology for a week will bring on some kind of life changing revelation.

I'm glad you asked. I went into this year having gone through a nasty divorce and custody battle. I completely plan to win her back with my good looks and charm as soon as i get off drugs. The problem is i've been bangin and free-beeing again but this time i'm gonna prove to her that i can do it! I've recently found Jesus. He is guiding me with his mighty hand and eternal love.
He is the lord and the light so if she rejects me, that bitch is going to hell!
I've been looking for a job so i can get my own place away from the mission. I just left the temporary office yesterday. They said they still haven't found a position demanding of my expertise.
Let's see, it's almost july but i'm hopin to have her back by Christmas. Mee-Maw and Pee-Paw have been wanting to see her and the kids again. She missed last Christmas's shake and bake chicken dinner. It was just me and the folks.
So by the end of the year i look forward to getting off drugs, getting a job so i can afford an apartment, go to church and praise Jesus all while winning my beautiful wife and children back! Wish me luck!
